Exclamation Computer has power but won't turn on...

Ok...so I put my computer together and it powers the motherboard, but it won't completely turn on. The motherboard is lit up and the LED code reads 8.3. (ABIT/which stands for ATX power ready). However, none of the fans turn on, (including the Power Supply Unit fan) and my monitor is blank. I checked all of my connections and my equipment is all brand new.

Sounds as though something connecting into the board isn't seated correctly. Double check all plugs, expansion cards, fan headers and RAM dimms are properly connected. If necessary, remove everything and re-seat it all again.

another qns to ask. my power supply is 24pin but my motherboard is 20pin slot. what to do with the xtra 4 pins?

Hi there maybe a compatability issue, you need to find out your mainboards specs and see if it is compatable?

Maybe buy a You can buy 20pin to 24pin adaptors?+

I would be checking all your connections,is CPU connected/powersupply.

Maybe start again as Hengis said.

There seems something is no correct in your setup?

(Power Supply Unit actually has 24 pins.

20 TO 24 PIN MAINBOARD CABLE CONVERTER

Didn't realise 4 were seperate and plugged in to a different part of the board)??????????????

Some more information as in MB make/CPU/etc..

compatability issue is not the problem as it is my previous pc hardwares. i just change the casing. the only different is the power supply which is 24pin. my motherboard uses 20pin. is there anyway to check if the motherboard is faulty or working condition?
