Default Loud Motor noise - just happened when turned on this morning.

I just turned my computer on this morning and it sounds like the motor is really noisey. It wasnt even like this last night. It's either the motor or the fan which causing it as the noise is coming from that area. What do you think is the problem. And how could i fix it, how much for a new fan or motor?

You really haven't pinpointed the exact piece of hardware that is making the noise. It could be the cpu fan or the fan in the psu. It could be the hard drive too
Can you open the case and look to see if you can find the noisy culprit.

well i'm confused now. I took the side off and turn it on and the noise wasnt there. Do you think something was catching while the side was on?

It is possible that the case side was pushing some wires into the fan. Make sure it's not possible for the wires to be pressed against the case and try again.

With the side back on there is no noise anymore.
I think i've solved the problem thanks to you telling me to listen with the side off.
