Exclamation 12V rail @ 9.03V

Hey guys... last weekend i bought a brandnew Antec truepower 650W, due to my Shi$y SHAW cuasing the processor fan voltage to regulate under load (scary) anyways... i was just looking through pcwizard and noticed that my 12V rail was only at 9.03 volts.. is this normal? does it vary with load? i havent had any problems of crashing even when using the 8800gts on full kit in GRAW.... any comments? thanks in advance.

just checked in BIOS, apparently running 12.43V, maybe program is getting it wrong, every other rail seems to be above board though..
just had a thought, its a three 12V rail psu, maybe the program is having problems detecting the rails due to 3 of them being used?
or it is detecting the 12 rails that is not being used?

Hey Un19ue...

Download speed fan from my sig and let me have a look @ yer voltage.. If you can post a screenshot..

the 12.43 is fine as long as it is on your +12 volt.

Your right it is fine.. All my rails always read under. remember whatever is connected to one of the rails will take away from the voltage. To test it unplug a fan and you should see it go up by about 1 or 2 volts.

i checked it in BIOS, it runs 12.34volts in BIOS and runs 9.3 in both software programs (pcwizard and speedfan) pc wizard is a great piece of freeware btw IMO..

my last Power Supply Unit showed 12V in the software and 11.34 in BIOS... so i think software is a lil to blame. i also called the computer tech who sold it to me and he said not to worry, software can be wrong and usually is, trust the BIOS.
thanks guys

BTW MERLIN, the AMD 6000, is 3.5ghz, is that standard?

Hey Un19ue..

Glad you found the answer.. 12v showing even 11.34 is ok. It is when you get down to 10 there may be a problem.
My +12v rail always shows around 11.90 when everything is up and running.

As far as the 6000+ no the stock speed is 3.0 ghz.. I overclock allot so it is overclocked to 3.5ghz
I would not recomend giving up your 5200+ for this as it is not noticeably faster until you overclock.
