Default [Resolved] PC wont boot, PSU or Motherboard?

Hello,

i was away for the week end, my PC was powered down. When i came back i tried to start it but nothing happened. No LEDs, no sounds, nothing happens at all.

I noticed the LED on my power supply was blinking (not continuous green light). So I disconnected the power supply from everything. By itself it seems to work, the LED on the back remains lit (not blinking).

Then I connected the Power supply to my mainboard and the green LED starts blinking again. So i thought it was a mainboard problem and bought a new one.

I bought an ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe. I connected the Power supply to this new mainboard (mainboard empty, nothing on it yet, not even the CPU) to see what happens. Again same thing, the LED on the PSU is blinking.
This mainboard has a LED too, which is also blinking like the PSU's LED.

I dont know what could be wrong. Do i need to put every piece of hardware on the new mainboard to see what happens? Or is it a broken power supply unit?

Thank you in advance for any help

Hello Maneiro Welcome to PCHF

In my experience, every single PSU that has had a blinking light (even though it doesn't blink when not plugged to the mobo) means it's a bad power supply. I have never seen a PSU work after seeing a blinking light.

I believe a blinking light in the PSU means the power going through it is not constant. So regardless when the PSU is blinking, it means it's done.

That's not to say there may or may not have been problems on the motherboard as well. Just next time you should do some more troubleshooting before replacing the motherboard.

Hope that helps!
