- Is my unit worth replacing the power supply?
- HP parts are very expensive. Can I put an aftermarket power supply in my pc?
- If I can't replace the PS how do I get data off of the hard drive?
Hi Merc and welcome to PCHF.
How old is your PC? If it has been operating fine up until now, it may be worth looking into a new
PSU. But, if it is an older system, you may want to think about upgrading to a newer PC.
I don't think it would be a problem using an aftermarket
PSU, they all do the same thing.
If you do upgrade to a new or newer system, you can retrieve the data from your HD by hooking it up as a secondary drive in the new PC.
Hope I helped!!
