Yeah agreed.. anyone who's going to spend $1,400 (here in Canada anyway :P lol) is crazy for a processor.

Not suprisingly, the Intel Extreme Quad cores are actually rated very low by consumers, because it's wayy too expensive, and many games or applications don't use it.. they just ran out of innovative ideas.. I bet some guy said

"Hey we got dual core, let's make QUAD core!"

Soon, they'll have "octa-core"

or something.. lol

Anyway, since I don't plan on upgrading anything soon, I will assume the 550w works.... I'll post an update very soon.. I already have my computer.. the 6000+ is on backorder though.

but then, I don't really game too much (because my systems cry at me) so they work well for compiling the odd app, basic audio editing/recording, emails, surfing, music, etc, etc ,etc I could still do with an upgrade though, and set my babies free (Pass down the family to be fixed by me every 2 days when family KEEP opening silly files)

turned into an upgrade junky and i appreciate what you said earlier that every month a new thing comes out and it is a right pain in the ***. saved enough to get the best system out there and by the time i bought it it'd been left behind.
1 last upgrade for me this summer then stopping.

FX-60 was a waste... Mate.

ESPECIALLY the 50's and 60's.. you should've went with one of the 70's.. or wait for the K8L series.. FX-60 brings your specs down.

Also, can you expand on your RAM? What is DDR 400? I feel like I've heard of it, but forgot what it is.. or did you mean something else?
