My computer was shutting down every 5 minutes or so, so I figured it was a power supply problem. I go out to the store, buy a new one, and take out the old one. After I realized it wasnt working properly (the new one) I read a few tuts on the internet, and most of them said to take pics before you unplug... I dunno... When I plug in the new one, the PC turns on, but the CD drives wont open, and nothing shows up on my monitor. And, I've checked and double checked they're plugged in properly... The CD drives were plugged in properly, but still, nothing came on the monitor... The monitor was on, the orange light was on... I tried putting the old one back in, the CD drives worked, but still, nothing on the monitor... Oh, and with either PS, the PC beeps 4 times when I turn it on...

It sound like you've not had much fun recently.
Right, lets start with the no video thing, I suspect that you might be using the on board video connector which needs to be powered on some boards.(Do this only when the sysytem is powered off) From the PSU there should be a set of cables coloured black and yellow leading up to a plastic connector that has 4 pins, on the motherboard, possibly near the cpu should be a plug to connect to. It should only be able to plug in one way.
As to the CDROM drives, make sure the red cable is closest to the IDE cables.
The Beeps you get, without knowing what make/model your board is could mean any number of things, let us know what it is. Check that the memory is seated properly as that is one of the more common problems

Apart from that you might have a duff PSU on your hands, unusual but it does happen sometimes.

If I may inject something here. After changing the PSU inside your PC always make sure you haven't jiggled anything loose like ram or video card. Make sure everthing is seated properly. Also did you know...Some PC manufacturers use proprietary power supplies? I didn't untill I bought my first DELL...lol So keep that in mind..

Thanks for the replies. Its not a brand name PC, just an old one in a white case... Everything is seated, actually screwed in... And, the molex connectors are all in properly. I have an Award BIOS BTW...
