Red face [Answered] What the story with back link building.

Hi,

The Search Engine Optimization company I pay said they would boost my link building to help me get a page rank with google. At the mo its zero!!!

I have a few links on good sites. Will it help my ranking if I also link back to them from my site too?

Also, is they any directories you can submit to for free to get a link. All the ones I have done so far have cost me a fortune???

Thanks if somebody can assist!!

math

thats interesting, yahoo seems is ahead of google. Thats good. A few years ago things were very spread out on the net. Now Google have dominated every search everywhere. Its not without its faults. I get pay-for-clicks into my site from people using search terms that are nothing to do with my site! and I dont have that key word, or just one word in it.
Im glad if yahoo are making a come back, nice to see some more too. I hate doing a search and just getting pages of the same old sponsored links. A few year ago lots of individual and good sites would come up.Now its just the big boys with all the money!

Hey math, your right! But it's the most popular search engines we need to stick to if you want your site to be popular also. Many still consider Google to be the most popular search engine.

EDIT: Marked as answered.

You can always verify ro the one who offered you the link building services. They might have not started yet. Based from what I know, it takes months for Google to update its ranking.
