Well, you've made a start and I congratulate you on that. Personally I wouldn't go down the "forum hosting" route if you're serious about making a real go of this. Look around for a cheap hosting deal and get yourself a decent free forum solution such as SMF. Make sure that your hosting package includes at least 300mb of space and MySQL as standard. If you stay with the forum hosting solution you will only be beholding to that site and you won't ever have your own unique domain name or advertising revenue to help pay for the running of the site.

Good advice hengis, I'd like to add that sites hosted by those forum companies usually don't get listed as good as individual domains do. Though google uses the pagerank system, msn, yahoo and other mostly pick up 'big' urls and not the subdomains, they get lower priority. So if you want to be 'found' on the web, get a topp domain. I did and, with my site I now have a pagerank of 3 and about 150 visits/day. Real nice for 'another'site to inform people about the risk of spwyare/viruses etc and trying to help them out.
