Lightbulb Redirect and jump

Hello, I am running Windows XP on a P4 decktop. My problem occurs when surfing the internet or when trying to access a web site. Using the latest IE browser. When I type in a web addrss or select one fron google I am taken to another site such as monster or another search site. This happens evrn when I type in the site I want. In the header next to the favorute stars I often see "redirect" or "jump" come up and then I go off to a third part site. I have run Reg cure and Spy Sweeper many times with no improvement. This is my last resort before a hard drive format. Please help!
Regards Ian

Here are my logs:

Default Re: Redirect and jump

This should fix it...

Please download the OTMoveIt2 by OldTimer. http://download.bleepingcomputer.com.../OTMoveIt2.exe

Save it to your desktop.
Please double-click OTMoveIt2.exe to run it.
Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wserving.exe

Return to OTMoveIt2, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
OTMoveit2 will create a log of moved files in the C:\_OTMoveIt\MovedFiles folder. The log's name will appear as the date and time it was created, with the format mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Open this log in Notepad and post its contents in your next reply.
Close OTMoveIt2
If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Post the log along with a new HJT log when done.

========================================

Have "Hijack This" fix all the following items in the list below by placing a check in the appropriate boxes.Confirm that you have only the listed ones checked, then press <Fix checked> and Close HJT.

O23 - Service: WServing Service (WServing) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\wserving.exe

Post a new HJT log when done.

Hi Pancake,
Still have the problem. When using google to search if I put in cars for example. The list of results come up, I then select one ie Vauxhall. The round circle next to the favorite stars activates and the box next to it goes to "cars-google search", Why ? I have already searched and selected the site I want. Then I get www.referenco.com or somthing like monster and go to an advertised site for car insurance. Even when I type into the address bar the site I want thats when I get the jump or redirect come up and get taken to another site. Frustrating! Any ideas?

Default Re: Redirect and jump

Ok.Lets download ComboFix.exe. This will give me a better view to the files running and also hidden on your computer and also those in the registry..Please visit this webpage for downloading and instructions for running the tool:

Go here ======> A guide and tutorial on using ComboFix <====== Go here

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first. This applies to XP Pro and XP Home users only.If you have SP3 installed you will need to use SP2

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should get a prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

(1) Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
(2) Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

C:\ComboFix.txt
New HijackThis log.

Caution: Never run and remove files with Combofix unless supervised by a qualified security analyst who is experienced in the use of Combofix. Mal use can cause serious computer problems

NOTE: Combofix prevents autorun of all CDs, floppies and USB devices to assist with malware removal & increase security. If this is an issue or makes it difficult for you - please let me know.
