Default File Transfer Monitoring Help

Hi Folks

Not sure if you are able to help but I have been tasked with developing a small application that will display like traffic lights (Red = Unsuccessful, Green Successful, Amber = completed with exceptions) whether our various file transfer scripts have successfully run.

They are currently monitored by a powershell script that monitors the various log files and emails us throughout the day informing us whether the transfer has been successful or not. With a growing amount of transfers happening this is not ideal.

I am looking for a variety of different approaches to this, the best applications to use for a simple application and whether monitoring log files is the best way to go? Or would it be whether the file has arrived to its destination.

Sorry about the vagueness, I have just been given this and am looking for a place to start really.

Many Thanks

Not too experienced in programming at your level, but...

Perhaps the logs can be added to an online database (spreadsheet...), where you can retrieve the data en masse as you wish.

Would you care to expand further? this sounds intresting. Apart from the Spreadsheet, how about SQL Server or something?
