Question How is my Performance?

Hi all. I got one big drive (465 G) split in to 2 partitions. One is 205 G – with Windows installed on it, and another 260 G – my “download” drive. After surfing the net, I scan my machine for all of the left over “Pesticides” (Web Threats). + My little brother likes to visit “Not So Good Sites” including PORN sites. I used to scan it with Ad-Aware, but now I like SUPERAntiSpyware, performs a bit faster. So it detects lots of stuff left from those sites. Otherwise it just crashes the computer in a while. Here is a shot of the amount of files on that drive that has Windows on it, and the one I sscan:

Takes about 45-50 minutes to scan it with my hardware. As I was told, your hardware doesn’t have a big part in it. What can I do to DECREASE the amount of time it takes to scan this drive?? Am I doing the right thing by scanning only drive C: with Ad-Aware to catch all of the Internet threats?? Is this good performance for the amount of files??

Hi again Ilya,

Offload some of your files to an external hard drive. The less files there are to scan, the less time it will take.

Am I doing the right thing by scanning only drive C: with Ad-Aware to catch all of the Internet threats??

Personally, I would do a weekly FULL scan of both drives because, Malware can not only affect files you download. It may get into the System Files, etc which are on your other drive.

Is this good performance for the amount of files??
Absolutely.

I am in fact, quite cool. My graphing calculator confirms this

You have 146 files in the Recycle Bin , get rid of the MSO cache stuff you can get rid of with CCleaner for starters.

Backup your personal data files, pix, and music to dvd's, then delete the files from the drive.

This is Basic 101 stuff, plus some common sense is all you need...

I didn't give you a shot of my external drive, did I?? I do have everything backed up. The files are only the installation files on my C: drive. D: drive does have something, but I want to scan only C: anyway, Windows is installed there. There are not many programs installed there. Well, not that big of a size anyway.
