Smile Should I upgrade my CPU

My laptop is about 3 years old, and I'm thinking of upgrading the CPU. It's a Dell 600m with the Pentium M (Dothan) 1.6Ghz. I've already added RAM. I was thinking a Dual Core could help it run a little faster.

Is it worth the money to buy a new chip? If so, any recommendations? Any help would be appreciated.

Because it is a laptop, it is highly unlikley that you will be able to find a processor for it, (the dotha is an older processor). It would also be quite difficult to replace, and a Dual core would produce much more heat than your cooling system would probably be able to handle. In general, replacing CPUs in laptops is not a good idea.

I agree with AW_3_3.It is an older laptop and I doubt a dual core would be compatable.
