Default Upgrade Time! what chip for my mobo?

Hi guys/gals

been awhile since my last visit, i've decided to go for a better chip, when i built my system last year i specced a mobo better than i needed;

"Asustek M2V AM2 VIAK8T890 Sound, Gigalan And USB 2.0 2000MHz FSB SATA ATX"

the rig has the following spec at the moment

Asustek M2V AM2 2Ghz FSB mobo
AMD athalon 64 X2 3800+ Dual core processor
Corsair 2 x 1GB DDR2 667MHz ram
Innovision GeForce 7300GT 256MB DDR2 128Bit Pci-e,

its only going to cost me £30 to add another 2GB of ram
so i'm thinking of upgrading my processor too and going Vista, which i tried before and didn't like but thats another story.

so what chip!?!?

One of the black edition dual core jobbies would be nice however I will tell you what I tell everyone else. You system is ok as it is if you wish to upgrade thats upto you but you will not get a huge benefit for your money. I personally would buy an Intel board and a c2d cpu possibly the Q6600 but thats upto you. What is your max spend

BTW I really do not like via chipsets

well i don't want to be shelling out over £100... perhaps i should spend the money on ram and a new gfx card then...?

stick with xp and invest it all on a 4850? but that takes it a bit over a ton. The 8800 GT fits the budget? its upto you mate

i don't game on the pc any more, as i have a 360 so maybe i don't even need a better card

just to confirm going from my 3800+ to something like a 6000+ won't makee much difference
