Default Terribly Slow

My pc is usually really fast, i do hijack this scans, AVG scans, and there seems to be nothing wrong with my pc. But lately it has been really slow and i have no clue why. any help would be great guys.

Make sure intel speedstep is disabled in your bios.

thanx guys, it helped a lot. i guess i haven't cleaned up enough. But i have another question unrealated to my issue. How can i tell if the ram in my pc is DDR2.

Click on ... Memory upgrades, flash media, and usb storage at Crucial.com

Run the SCAN MY SYSTEM.

The report will tell you your memorys part number.

Let me know what the part number is.

it shows me part numbers of other things but ill paste some things and mybe it will be it

DDR PC2-5200

Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-4200,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*

Your question is answered. It is DDR not DDR2.
