Well I put it all back together. unplugged my system fan, my ide cables to the dvd drive & the cable to the hard drive, but left my power cables in. What is happening is at first the fan ran, Then it would just try to move (~5 deg), just short jerks. I tried it with the graphic card in & out. I would run it for 5-10 sec then shut it off. When I plugged the ps back in & restart it would shut off & restart. I could feel the cpu cooler warming up on the fins, so I would shut her down. The way the dealer advertized it sounded brand new, but in his email he tested them, so that is a little suspect esp when he is mailing it from Malaysia. So from my troubleshooting what do you think the problem would be? Thanks again.

Do you have another power supply to try at all also is the power plug and the 4 pin connector connected to the mainboard? I don't think it will be the fan of heat sink even with just the heat sink attached it should boot for atleast a min or so even with the heat issue. Is the power swith conected to the right pins on the mainboard.

In this situation it's best to remove all hardware from the case and set it up on a wooden or none metalic surface. Just plug in CPU power supply RAM and graphics card if needed (Not if on board) and see if you get post boot. If you get nothing try the power supply first.

Took everthing out of case, hooked up psu & cpu to mob with the graphic card. turned her on & couldn't get power to boot it, nothing happened. Wouldn't power up unless it needs a switch or something. There were no screws, under the board, had enough clearance with the spacers so I didn't see any shorts. I rehooked it up,only the psu,cpu & the graphics card.. Still wouldn't boot up & no video. Tried on a flat screen Dell monitor as well as the older monitor. I will take the power supply out of my emachine tomorrow & check it out. Thanks
