Default Upgrading my Acer to a Q6600...can it be done?

Hi there. New to the forum, which is great by the way. I have an Acer Aspire AST660 desktop. It currently has a Pentium D 820 2.8 GHZ processor in it. I am interested in upgrading to the Core 2 Quad Q6600. I have no idea if this can be done, as getting info from Acer is like trying to get info about Bin Laden's whereabouts. Anyway, this is all the info I have about the selling state of the Acer T660 model (comes in different "flavours" I guess), right from the Acer support website:

Now, I am assuming that when it mentions "Up To 2.13 or 3.4 GHZ" etc that they mean that the processors included with this model at the time they were available for sale (2006/2007) were up to 2.13, and 3.4 GHZ, and that it does not mean thats the miximum speed you can use. Any help on this would be appriciated, cause I don't really want to go out and buy another MB as well as a CPU.
