Smile [Resolved] New CPU - PC Won't Boot

Hi all,
I had a thread a while back about my dead CPU. Anyway I sent it back and was sent a new one. The one happened to be wrong (I was running an E6600 and they sent me an E4700). Phoned them up and was told I could use this until my new one arrives on monday. Anyway I hooked everything up and tried to boot up. I got absolutely nothing on my first go and tried again. I had a screen telling me that my HDDs had been checked and below that it said something about an Intel CPU error. I rebooted and managed to reach the BIOS where everything looked fine. My processor was recognised and all was well. Try to reboot a final time and nothing. My Motherboard, RAM and graphics card are all fine to my knowledge. My MoBo show's it's normal green light, all the fans start (Heatsink and Fan, case fans, graphics card fan etc) but nothing is displayed. Both my old processor and the new one are the LGA775 socket type, I'm baffled as to why this would happen.

System specs
Asus P5W DH Deluxe
E4700
Nvidia 8800 GTS
2GB of RAM

I'll go into detail if it's needed. I've tried the tech people who sent me the processor to no avail. All I seemed to get was the answer 'Hmm'. Any help would be great. I'm thinking of taking it all out the case, taking out the graphics card a stick of RAM and seeing if it will boot then. This is a bit of a pipe dream I would assume seeing as how it seems to be the CPU.

Cheers all

EDIT = The error message is as follows - Intel CPU uCode Loading Error

Yes try with bare mininums like one ram stick etc. Also make sure the ram is seated correctly and other components are. And im sure sure you have but check the 4-pin power connector is plugged in.

Think I've found the problem. I went into the BIOS again and tried to set the boot device. My HDDs DO NOT show up. I've got a 500GB Western Digital which I'm running Windows XP on. This serves as my primary drive. I've also got a 160GB Hitachi DeskStar which is empty (No OS). Any ideas on why my HDDs fail to show up?

Edit = Sorry Upgrader, didn't see your post. I'll try the bare minimum but out of interest - why wouldn't my HDDs show in the BIOS?

Arrrgggghhhh. I can't even boot into the BIOS now. The fans spin for a while and then everything goes dead. In this time nothing is displayed on screen.

I've found this when i try to set the boot priority. What is it? 4M External Disk 0

Edit = After more digging I've found out that '4M External Disk 0' is my empty 160GB HDD. It appears as an external IDE drive in the BIOS. Any ideas?

Ah why didn't I think of that. When I built my PC with Asus mobo I had a problem I think and the BIOS update fixed it. I can't remember exactly, but I certainly had some kind of booting problem.
