Thumbs up [Answered] what should i buy?

hi as i've postd earlier i have just brought universe at war the game and it needs 2.8GHZ processor and also needs 2GB RAM. My laptop which is a fujitsu siemens amilo li 1718 windows vista home premium only has a 1.7GHz processor and 1GB RAM. So what i need is a new processor and some new RAM, however thats where you guys come in :P i hardly know anything about computers inside so i need to no which RAM fits my laptop and if its compatible with it(i think), i've been looking at lot at CURRYS website and they have RAM from SD DIMM, SD SODIMM, DDR DIMM, DDR SODIMM, DDR2 DIMM and DDR2 SODIMM. Now im only a 15 year old kid and have no clue what that means lol, could someone please post which one is compatible with my laptop and what processor is best to buy within a reasonable budget of a 15 year old kid
Also one more Q, which graphics card should i buy?
ATI X800 or the NVIDIA 7600

Thanks

Tom

I would go with the Nvidia 7600 there well supported by there drives and there also MUCH easier to over clock a Nvidia i really had to do nothing but i also got a progam called riva tuner try it then an ATI card and the Nvidia cards around where I'm living are about 30% cheaper then ATI cards thats my opinion anyways

Hello,
Well I just been looking at your laptop specs,it says there is 2 gig RAM fitted already. But this is debateable you may have less?
However it depends how much of your RAM is dedicated elsewere:as in maybe graphics. So your RAM would appear less than what is installed.

Could you run Belarc.com advisour this would give us a better idea of what you have installed.
Most new Vista laptops come with 2 gig RAM as standard fitted. However this is debatable,so if only 1 gig fitted then you have 2 slots you can fit another gig.

Ram Fitted 2048 DDR2 533 mhz ???

ATI Radeon® Xpress 200M (shared graphics) up to
256MB HyperMemory™
Up to 2GB DDR2 SDRAM in two memory SO-DIMM
slots

Chipset: ATI RC415ME + SB460
CPU: Intel® Celeron® M processors with 533MHz FSB:
- Celeron® M 430 / 1.73GHz / 1MB 2nd level cache
- Celeron® M 440 / 1.86GHz / 1MB 2nd level cache
- Celeron® M 520 / 1.6GHz / 1MB 2nd level cache
Intel® Pentium Dual Core™ processor with
533MHz FSB
- T2060 / 1.6GHz / 1MB 2nd level cache
Intel® Core™ Duo processors with 533 MHz FSB
- T2350 / 1.86GHz / 2MB 2nd level cache
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processors with 667MHz FSB
- T5300 / 1.73GHz / 2MB 2nd level cache

I do not think you need new graphics card if you set it up correctly in BIOS you should be fine.

Ok press either F1,F2 or del wich ever lets you enter setup=BIOS.

I think under advance settings look for your graphic card then it maybe set at say 64 or 128 set it to 256.However you RAM will apear smaller. So laptop will run a little slower untill you fit another gig of RAM.Setting to 256 will give you better performance.

Adjust your graphics settings under control panel when you reboot laptop and logon.A higher resolution and refresh rate will be better.

You can buy RAM DRR2 online at amazon cheap enough.

Reboot laptop when post screen shows up,black screen with white words it should prompt wich button to press to enter setup?

Your prosessor is dual core as in 2 cores, why would you need a new CPU?

2x 1.7=3.4

Yes it will be slower as you dedicated RAM to your graphics card. You now need to buy more RAM.
Did the laptop come with 1 gig RAM installed?Or did you add a 512 RAM?Is there a free slot for another gig RAM?

The issue now is to buy more RAM.

I cannot stay on Fujitsu website long enough to get much info,it freezes my IE7 so bad I have to reboot.
