Default Dell XPS M1530 1.6 ghz processor

Hi there. I am going to be purchasing this laptop at the weekend but want to make sure i get a suitable package. Im kinda tight on money so I cant just go and buy the best spec one they have available. But ive been looking around on the internet and most people seem to be buying the 2.0, 2.2 or 2.4 ghz processor. Will that make a big difference? well, i know it would make a difference but, with the 1.6 ghz processor, will i still be able to play the latest games on the laptop, or will i suffer?

Thank you

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Personaly it is going to be slow, you would also need to install more RAM/Memory.

You would still not get much with 2.0 but again with more RAM it would run a lot better.

You are wasting your money on a 1.60 GHZ.

How much can you afford to spend on a new one?

I agree, you are probably better to hold off a bit longer until you have more cash. Otherwise you're buying a computer that's so 2007!

Thank you for the replies Is it seriously going to be slow? Sorry, i didn't state in the first post, maybe you already know though, but its a dual core processor, Im not sure how much of a difference that makes but i guess its logical that that may make the speed sufficient. Or should i still be looking to get a 2.0 ghz dual core processor and above?

Cheers
