Exclamation Problem with CPU?

Recently I received another computer.
It's an eMachine T1840 Desktop
1.80Ghz, 40GB Hard drive, 128MB DDR blah blah

*I took the hard drive out and installed it as a secondary for my other computer*

anyways, i was told that the CPU was bad in this computer.
symptoms were as follows: I would turn the eMachine on and it would beep three times and nothing would appear on the monitor
it would continuously run until it was shut off but nothing would boot or appear on screen as told previously.

the fan on the CPU would not spin...does this mean the CPU fried? and possibly fried the motherboard???

just curious

Hello. Do you get the beeps all in the same interval? And are their only 3 beeps? If so can you try to use a different stick of RAM. Take out the 128MB and Switch it with any memory you have that you know works. It seems that it would be a bad memory stick causing it. Thanks

Oh. No problem. So does it give any beeps? Can you make sure all the cables inside are hooked up? They might have become dislodged in transport.

yeah everything is seated fine....a dell tech told me to re seat the memory as to make sure it wasnt a memory problem but that didnt work either....when i turn it on, the fan tweaks like it wants to move but it doesnt...the computer just runs?
