Default [Resolved] Socket Type

Hello again. I'm in need of a new heat sink but can't seem to find a conclusive answer for what my socket type is. I'm running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+. I think it's a socket-939 but I'm not sure and don't want to mess it up. Sorry for such a basic question.

Thanks for any help given

Hi Arch Enemy,

You are correct, it is infact a Socket 939 that you have

Did they sell the Athlon X2 +3600 for S939? I was under the impression they were only sold for AM2.

Download Everest from my signature, and install it. It will tell you what socket type you have. Just to be sure.

They selll them under both.. But 99% of the Heatsinks are compatible with 939 and AM2.. Like my 4200 plus x2 was a socket 939.. Just depends how long ago you got it.

Thank you for the help but this thread should be closed, I found it was a socket AM2 but now I can't fit the thing. Check my thread 'Problems fitting heat sink'.

Once again thank you but this should be marked as resolved.
