Question AMD 64 4000+ vs. AMD 64 X2 3800+

Just a quick question to see if it is worth shelling out $59.00 to upgrade to a dual core chip. I built the computer about three years ago and I am not quite ready to build another because this one actually runs fine. .....just being anal about wanting a dual core...

Absolutely get the Dual Core. The performance increase over the Single core is incredible. Though I recommend getting at least an X2 +4400. Also, get the 65nm Brisbane core, it runs much cooler than the 90nm Windsor Core. But to answer your question, yes, the extra cash is definetly worth it.

Thanks for the advice but I don't think my MoBo will support anything faster than a FX55 or FX 57??? Don't want to buy anything I can't use...
