Default Celeron D temps

Just finished putting my new celeron D custom whitebox together. All is working now.

But after only 20 minutes of idle ing the bios says 60 degrees celsius. I forget what is max for celeron D. I for get model number. But I believe its 345 3ghz. It was at least 3ghz and is 64bit for sure.

And does bios tend to over exagerate. If so it's been awhile. I forget what programs can I use on 2000 or XP to determine temps. What's a good program.

Also I think stock fan is not the best. Don't worry I used thermal grease. Even the stock grey stuff never worked really well. I think stock fan is just no good.

What are some other good 775 fans and heatsinks. Please suggest. Size does not matter. I will consider all options then measure. Just suggest anyway so I can see what others think.

Thanks,
ivnj

download the speedfan utility from my signature (v 4.33) and try it. im thinking that you are correct, and it is just a crappy fan. I reccomend these.
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer Pro 7 (i reccomend this one cuz its awesome, and its on sale for $15 off)
ARCTIC SILVER 5 Thermal Compound (Best stuff there is. Period)

I will look into those. There are 3 options I can buy locally.

CDW Product Overview: Thermaltake Silent 775D CL-P0378 - processor cooler

HEATSINK WITH COOLING
FAN FOR SOCKET 775
PROCESSORS - CPU-FAN-775

Spartan Technologies

its cheap, and not any better than the Stock Celeron D Fan. for that price, you might as well buy the AC one (which I own 3, one in my parents Core 2 Extreme Quad, and one in my new C2D 6750, and the AMD model for my recent Athlon64 X2 +4200) They work exceedingly well, and are not gigantic (comparatively)
