OK, so I decided to take the plunge. I just got the board in the mail today. I put red paper washers in the top side of board holes. I screwed it on. Plugged in ram, cpu, video, hard drive, power supply, and fans, etc. Booted right away, so I guess cpu was not fried after all. And I also applied thermal grease between the cpu and fan.

So all woks now. So thanks for all your help.
