Default Getting A New Processor

I've got an Inspiron 9300. It is almost exactly 2 years old to this day, and I havn't upgraded a thing in it yet. I've felt the need to replace my Intel Pentium M 2.00GHZ processor. I'm in need of a little faster speeds, and something just a little quicker. I don't even know where to start, or where to look for a new processor, or for that matter, what to get? So, my question is....what should I get? What should I be looking for? (that would be compatible w/my laptop)

My specs...
Dell 17" Inspiron 9300
Windows XP Pro SP2
2.00 GB RAM
Intel Pentium M 2.00GHZ Processor
Nvidea GeForce Go 6800

That's the fastest processor for that model.
The big issue with laptops-- upgrading hardware-- most just sell them/buy new.
