Default [Fixed] Heat sink wont unstick

I have a AMD Athalon dual core 2.6 Gh processor and it is attached to a heatsink that came with it. The heatsink thats on there now hasent been keeping it as cool as I would like for it to be so today I attempted to remove the heatsink. After much difficuty I managed to take it off but much to my horror my CPU was stuck to the underside of it. SO far as I can tell the pins are undamaged but it came out dispite that little latch thing being closed. I tryed getting the CPU off the bottem of the heatsink but it is stuck rock solid. I havent tryed pulling on it really hard yet out of the fear of damaging it.

Please help!

Woo! I got it. But now I have another problem. The heat sink I'm trying to install doesnt even come close to fitting, even though it is supost to. My processor socket type is AM2 and the heatsink I'm trying to use is a nMEDIAPC ICETANK 90mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler. Acording to reviewers on new egg its suposta be really easy to fit on the am2 socket but for me when I sit the heatsink on top of the processor the clips rest a good centimeter or so above were they need to be. I cant seem to get it even close to fitting.

Suggestions?

Yes, thats the one, and it did come with those adapters. I think those adapters are for Intel processors however.

I might just be to scard to really apply alota force. How much does it usually take? I remeber when I installed the one that came with the CPU it just barely fit on. Maybe I'm weak lol.
