Default P4 and high end Gpu

.Hello my question is can i run a high end graphics card like the GeForce 8800 Ultra, with the p4 3.2 dual core i have now? Normally when running a game the processor only utilises 50 to 60% of its power.

You should be able to. I had on my PC that's waiting for an answer to my original thread, a P4 1.7Ghz and was able to run games with min requirement of 2.6Ghz processor using an NVIDIA 6600 OC with only minimum lag during cutscenes/many enemies at once. I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to use that card. It's possible that card might not run on anything but XP/Vista tho, as support for older Operating Sytems are mostly not supported on the newest cards.

yes, but i wouldnt reccomend it. with that processor, anything above a Geforce 8600GTS is just going to be useless, as it will be severely held back by the processor. if i were you, i would go with a 8600GT or 8600GTS

Your chip is fine... at that clock speed, you processor is not the bottleneck the problem will be your mobo, do some pci - x bandwidth tests, c how you compare with other pple, with the 8800 the higher your mhz the better your performance.. only the newer games, ie unreal 3, crysis etc etc will utilize both cores properly, so in that case you will have 100% load....

Well you got a good chip...if I were you I would get a core duo instead of just the dual core cpu..

And the only bottleneck you will have that all of us have is your hard drives. Unless you get 6 raptors in raid 0
