Hi I thought I might throw this out and see what i could find out. I have a Pentium III 550 mhz processor, can I upgrade this to a faster processor and if so how fast could I go and would I have to change the motherboard and to what? I would appreciate if anyone could help.

Depending on your motherboard (if you know the make and model of your motherboard, otherwise you can find out using SIW Download), you should be able to upgrade to a gig. Any more than that, then you will be looking at buying a new motherboard and memory. .Not really worth all that IMHO Stig, since PC prices are so cheap these days, you can pickup an Inspiron base unit from Dell at only $350!

I did manage to find out that I can upgrade compatably to a intel PIII 1.1Ghz. without changing motherboards and I found one for 25$. also I cannot acces my pc at this time I am using a work pc now, I had some nasty people put some nasty stuff on that deleted system files and reg keys and values when I ran a anti-virus. I need to put in a new HD band reinstal my OS before I can mess with the CPU. Thanks alot for the link to SIW though.
