Unfortunattley, you can not upgrade any proccessor to any processor, there are different types of slots and sockets. You can download Belarc, run it and when it finishes, post the results here and then we can give you a more informed opinion. Belarc will tell us your current system specs so we can give you your options.

Well, all you should need to know is that it is a Gigabyte 965p-DS3 mobo, it is socket 775, it is C2D compatible, i dont need to know if it is compatible or anything, all i need to know is whether it would be worth it, and i am new to these forums, but i am not new to computers, so please dont just assume that i am

And, sorry for double posting, but the rest of my system is up to date, the oldest things in it are my CPU and hardrives, and i am only worried about my CPU atm
