Howdy,
I'm a virgin to asking for online help, but the information i'm finding doesn't suffice.
I've just got my hands on a CPU Intel P4 w/HT 3.00Ghz Socket 478 ! 800Mhz FSB, 1MB

My Mobo is: Asus p4sgx-mx.

I've placed my new "3.00Ghz" cpu in but when i boot up i have no signal, it makes all the right noises (well i don't think the processor makes a sound).
I was just wondering if this CPU is actually compatible to my mobo. I've just updated my bios and gave that a shot, but nothing. So i don't know whether it's a problem with the CPU being damaged on it's way to it's humble new home or i just can't get enough rev's up to support it...?

I've never replaced a cpu before so i'm pretty vague with it.
If any futher spec information is needed, don't hesitate to ask.

The CPU is not compatible-- according to ASUS... The front-side bus is 533MHZ max-- that CPU is 800.
