Question Vista and bios flashing

Well I dont expect anyone to feel sorry for me but on my new streetsmart Dual Core Intel sooperdooper machine I installed Vista 2 weeks ago. The mboard maker MSI of Taiwan issue flashes for the Bios on a regular basis. One would believe that they have tested what happens if you use it on Vista under windows installation.
Nope they havent and now my machine looks like it has a limited lifetime as a doorstop. The bios are flashed and gone, the floppy drive I rigged keeps getting a request for a system disk. Even if there is one in there. I wonder if anyone else has this experience or hints on what to do next.
I am not holding my breath.

Hello Sumpter! Welcome to PCHF

When does it ask for the system disk? Is it the very first thing you see when you turn the computer on? If so, you should try consulting the motherboard manual and/or the website and/or contact them directly by phone to see if there is a way to reset the BIOS to factory settings.

If it passes the MSI splash screen and the POST test, then asks for the disk, then it may be as simple as a system restore. Please note a system restore means wiping the hard drive entirely of all the data, so if you have important stuff, you'll want to back it up first by hooking the HD up to a working computer and copying the files from there.

Hope that info helps!
