HI santa-noob.

No.

The architecture of the motherboard, the way it talks to the memory, everything about it...is different. You'll need a P4 motherboard for a P4.

But the older one is goin to get the better pc....but i haven't a clue ( i am stuck) they both will get 512 ram... so would u take a P3 at almost 1.ghz or a cel at 1.3 Ghz...its a mid tower????? well help please

I believe they were pretty similar processors though the P3 had 133 FSB where as the cel only had 100, in terms of cache etc I believe they both had 256kb.

They're both pretty similar IMO.

Personally, i would take the P3

Back when these CPU's where the "it" the 1.3 celeron was nothing special...a workstation grade cpu at best. It was good - don't get me wrong, but it was the cheap alternative to the P3.
