Question What cpu should i get please

ok sorry been away pc wise for a bit.

i have a Gigabyte Nforce4 MB (GA-K8n-SLI)
scocket 939

and i would like to up rate the cpu to a dule core, please what would you say i should get, got about £150 tops.


Machine name: ZARNIWOOP (had to be realy)
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)
System Manufacturer: NVIDIA
System Model: AWRDACPI

Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3700+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.3GHz
Memory: 2048MB RAM corsar matched
Page File: 511MB used, 3429MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c



this PC is for gaming

I would recommend this there isnt much you can get 939 wise:

Am i being thick on the box the motherbaord say's it can suport the following?

amd athlon 64 x2 64 fx/64

and the white lable on the side say this


nVidia n FORCE4 sli/2 pci-E*16
Socket 939 ATx/ 2PCi-E*14 DDR Dule-CH Audio Gbe/4 SATA II / 10 USB 2.0

only got this a yearago and was told it was kick *** then and would be upgradable prosseser wise???






AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 Dual Core 2x 2.6GHz 2x 1MB 939 CPU


could i run this

Well Socket AM2 has taken over 939, but there are some X2's you can get for it still:

Have you got a link to the shop that sells that processor?

The last and second processors wont work as they are AM2.

but the first - they say it is socket 939 and you have a socket 939 board so it should work.
