Default PC freezes playing video

I have a core2duo with an EAX1600 pro graphics card and a P5NSLI motherboard. I just bought it about 2 months ago and for quite a while now it's been freezing while I'm watching videos. Everything will just freeze on the screen and the audio will skip like a record and I have to hit the reset button since nothing responds. The light on the keyboard for Caps Lock wont even go on. Every time this happens I always have the same error.

Description: Device identified.

I'm ready to kick my computer through the wall at this point. I previously thought it could be electrical issues or drivers but at this point I dont have a clue. It has also happened numerous times while I'm using 3d programs such as poser. I have XPpro installed and have already installed the patch someone mentioned that takes care of issues related to multiprocessors but that didnt resolve the issues. Anyone have a solution or a way of at least finding out what the problem is>?

I have the K-Lite codec pack and an EAX1600 pro graphics card. There must be an OnBoard graphics card. If I look under System Devices in the Device Manager I have something called NVIDIA nForce PCI system Management with a red X beside it. I think I dissabled that wile troubleshooting but not until after my problems started. For Display adapters it says ASUS X1600 Series and then below that it says ASUS X1600 Series Secondary.
Then under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers I have NVIDIA nForce 430/410 Serial ATA Controller listed twice.
When it comes to drivers I lose all patience. I can never tell if I'm downloading the right one or if I'm installing something older then what I have. If Nvata is the Nvidia drivers and I have an EAX1600 pro then isnt that a conflict?
