if the pc has been crashing like you mention and frezzing due to the power it could have corupt software due to incorrect shutdown and possibly faulty hardware. I would get a UPS and hook it up backup all important data on removable storage I would then repartition and format the pc and do a full reinstallation of the software.

hmm it might be something else. I've noticed now that it's freezing just when I use 3d applications or watch certain movies,. Could it just be a driver issue? It doesnt happen as much as it did but certain movies will cause it to freeze constantly. That makes me think it's more of a software problem since certain movies cause it to happen rather then all movies. I watched one movie yestrerday and it didnt happen at all and then I had to reboot 4 or 5 times watching another one.

Or move to a different appartment.
120 V at 60Hz is what outlets in North America should be getting, now Canada may be slightly different but I don't think so.
It could also be your power supply in your computer beginning to go bad.

I guess certain movies could work your graphics adapter harder than others, just like some games do. Do you have a video card, or onboard graphics? Have you checked to see what your temps are running? This could be a heat issue, check that all your fans are running, and the inside of the case and everything is clean and dust free. You can download this utility called Speed Fan to check your temps if you dont have one:
Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

This may sound crazy but my pc just froze yet again while watching a movie. I reset and looked in the events log and noticed that the last thing to happen was I reached the tcp/ip limit which has been forced on us by MS. I also looked back and noticed that the frequency of these warnings seems to coincide with the frequency of my crashes. I've been searching google and there seems to be an abnormal amount of people with crashing problems and tcp/ip warning in there events log.
Could there be anything to this? I applied the patch and I'm waiting to see if it happens again.

Well that seemed to fix my connection issues but I had another freeze up while watching a video and the event viewer showed nvata Event ID 2 "device identified" which is another error I have quite often. Seems like this one is the problem after all. This is likely a driver problem which is something I hate trying to fix because I know squat about them. From what I can tell nvata is part of the Nvidia drivers. I have a P5NSLI mother board and a Radeon EAX1600pro. Isnt the Nvidia **** the onboard video card?
