I have used Athlons in various sizes up from the 1200's up to Athlon 64 3200, never had any problems. Now some of the Intels I have had, now that's another story.

Ooooops sorry I was starting to sound like a fanboi...

Ok. My personal XP computer was a MSI KT4V motherboard, it worked great till a few months ago, the +5 volt PSU connectors on teh Mainboard were fried, then, it turned on, but it would not POST, and a few weeks prior, there was an issue with the NVRAM and i had to clear CMOS several times. THEN, it would turn on for a second, and shut off, i played with the PSU connector, and it would only remain on if the 12 volt connectors werent connected, becasue hte HDD turned over, but the fans wouldnt. THEN, my computer teacher has 3 HP computers with a +2200, a +1500, and a +1800. all of them turn on, but beep rapidly and dont POST. I have tried changing CMOS batteries, nothing. I have never had good luck with AMDs. I wanted to get a X2 till Intel came out with the Core2 and later Pentium Ds. I have never had any issues with Intel computers, our old desktop, new one, laptop, my grandfather and grandmother computers, and my aunts all use Intel. mine does too, and we have never had any issues.

I used to think MSI was a good company now, now im not so sure if ill ever use it again. too. Stick with Intel, ASUS, ABIT or BIOSTAR, maybe a FOXCONN.

ok. i got ANOTHER one daed. this one was dead within a minute of turning it on. not shorted or anything just, dead. ECS elitegroup K7S5A. AMD Athlon XP +2200. So why did tihs one and the MSI and an HP computer died? maybe i just have the worst luck in the world. but i dont think its that.
