This is not so much a problem, so much as question. My parents have a Gateway 832GM and it has a single core INtel Pentium 4 630 (3.0ghz) and in task manager in windows, it shows 2 cores, not one, and each one runs at different levels of usage... What the heck? PLease tell whatever you know. thanks.

That is because it is a Hyper threaded CPU, which effectively has multiple tasks mixed together flowing through the single core.
