Processor/CPU - PC wont start - continuous beep ?? posted in the Hardware forums; Hi hope someone can help ? I think there is a problem with the BIOS on my PC when i put the PC on there is a continuous beep noise ...

Unhappy PC wont start - continuous beep ??

Hi hope someone can help ?
I think there is a problem with the BIOS on my PC
when i put the PC on there is a continuous beep noise not sure what it means.
the monitor wont go on even though the led light shows its on and also the keyboard has nothing at all ?

its not the BIOS its a RAM related error....either your computer RAM is loose check it or it has konked up!

ooohhhh... is that what the problem is.... my computer teacher has this problem with an AMD XP HP motherboard. will tell him to try differetn ram.

If you can hear the computer running but nothing works,(can't boot up, no monitor) it would sound to me like the BIOS is out. The only other possibility I can think of is maybe the little wafer battery in the pc.

I have this problem too on a DFI LanParty board... the new RD600 one. But i tried a different brand on RAM and i had the same problem... the led thingy also sed C1 which i cant find anywhere wot it means. Maybe its the motherboard that is gone? ideas anyone?

Hello Rayge20, and welcome to the forum.
In the future, its always a good idea to start a thread of your own, about your specific problems. Sometimes when you ask a question inside a comment like this it gets overlooked as just a comment. But to answer your question, the meaning of the beeps is determined by which bios you have. Each bios mfg has different beep codes. Have a look here at the Award Bios beep codes, and other mfg codes are listed on this site as well:
