Unhappy [Answered] help me please!!

hi im afraid im mostly computer illiterate but ill try and explain the problem to the best of my ability. when i turn my computer on it goes to a screen that offers me the choice of going into safety mode, but whichever choice i select it takes me to a blue screen that says:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

if this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. if this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
if the problems constinue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. if you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options, and then select safe mode.

technical information:
*** STOP: 0(*)000000ED (0(*)817DC7E0, 0(*)C0000032, 0(*)00000000, 0(*)00000000)

P.S (*)= a multiplty sign.

if there is any one who can help me please reply to this thread.

Were you not supplied with any kind of recovery disk whatsoever?
By a recovery disk what I mean is a disk that doesn't look like a normal XP disk but may have the wording;
"For re-installation of XP on a DELL (example) pc only".

Where did you get this pc from?
This outrageous practice of not providing disks disgusts me.
To me you have two choices, either go back to the shop and demand the disk/s or obtain a brand new version of XP.
I would go with the former and play hell.
