Default How difficult is replacing a cpu?

I ordered a new cpu for my computer and was hoping I wouls be able to change it myself.I haven't attempted anything like this before but want to sart learning more about the inside of my PC.
I'm going from a Amd 3200+ socket 939 to a Athlon 64 X2 4600+ S939 512KB.Is there anyone here with any experience of changing cpu's like these?
Are there any online tuturiols to help me with type of thing? And what are the chances of me damaging my new cpu if I get it wrong?

This website shows you how to install a CPU. It isn't really that hard just make sure you don't bend any of the pins.

hey there,

If you open your machine and look inside, you will see a big circuit board(greenish/brownish in colour) On it you will see a fan sitting on a silver coloured metal(heatsink), below that is a chip-squire like, that would be the processor. You basically need to unclip the heatsink to reach the processor, then unclip the lever that fastens the processor on to the socket. Then remove the processor chip and you do not require any force to put it back. From there you reverse the whole procedure.
