Default No post no beeps

Hi folks,
First post. My Dragon 300w power supply recently died so I purchased an X-power 450w from Maplin. Installed, powered up, no post no beeps. Nothing. Reseated all cards and ram to no avail. Ran it bare-bones no ram etc still no post. Changed monitors, Graphics card, Ram. Still dead. Tried power supply from HP that I have used previously. Nothing. The fans and hard drive spin, so I am I going to have to come to terms with the fact that its a fried CPU. Any help in solving this dilema will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Wii-Man,

Welcome to PCHF.

Yes, no beeps at all generally means Power Supply, CPU or motherboard. Make sure the power cable is properly connected, and CPU fan is working, and try to reseat the CPU. You will always get warning beeps if it is any other problem like memory or card.

Thanks for the prompt reply Mad monkey. I tried all of your suggestions but still not getting any post or beep. Stripped the Mobo out the case and ran a skeleton system but its not doing squat! Any other suggestions most welcome as this is driving me crazy. Thanks

The only thing else I would do, is to remove the battery and reset the BIOS. I've only seen this occur once in the past with a Dell PC. But the most likely cause in this case is your CPU, sounds smoked to me!
