Default new parts still wont work

I have and hp that recently quit, the fan would run but nothing came on the monitor. I was told it was the motherboard bought a new one still nothing, bought a CPU after these were placed in the computer it started up and was loading the new motherboard then the screen went blank just like before all i hear is the fan running.Could there be something else burning up the CPU? I spent around 200 on parts and hate to toss the computer but don't want to sink alot more into it either.

hardware is not my area of expertise but i am thinking that it could be your power supply that is failling

maybe one of the hardware techs will be able to help you further

Wow, this is getting expensive for you Welcome to the site.

I think genie has probably hit the nail on the head with this one, what is the current power (w) of your power supply and roughly how old is it?

I agree. Power will most likely be the problem. I'm surprised that the people who looked at it didn't try this first...it's always the first thing i check when something goes wrong in a computer.

Default Re: Power

How do I check the power (w) the pc is around 3 years old. And if it is the power supply would the pc still come on? It comes on and I can hear the hard drive but just nothing on the screen.
