Ok I'm looking for a non biased answer which I know will be hard considering all the fans of intel and amd. I'm wondering what processor I should get. I'm trying to decide between a E6300 Conroe(1.86ghz) Dual core vs an Amd Athlon 64 X2 3800 A2 Windsor (2.2ghz). I'm not looking to overclock at least not from the start. Also w/ the AMD I'll be going w/ ddr2 800mhz and w/ the intel going w/ ddr2 667mhz and will the difference in memory speed be that big of difference? Any non biased help would be appreciated.
Hi, I think the trouble with any advice concerning 2 different brands of almost anything, the majority of opinion will be biased. Each side will find a counter argument to the other sides claim and vice versa.
Well, i can safely say...that i personally am an AMD fan...
that being said...
i can also say that the AM2 isn't as good as itnels Conroe (not yet anyway).
AMD used to be better for gaming...now it's not the case...purely because both Intel and AMD have both such different approaches to the task of centrol proeccessing, that how can you define "better"
Some say it's speed...well intel has the higher clock speed.
some say it's design...AMD...
some say it's support...that depends on the motherboard now.
