Hi hallidaycc
Dont close any of them untill one of the more experienced people have had a look at it, (i only know the basics!lol!) But check how much memory and % of the cpu they are using using the taskmanager. It depends on how much ram u have on your PC to how many processes can be run without slowdown. Eg lots of background tasks such as realtime virus scanners can cause you to use more memory. ( but i wouldnt turn the AV scanners off!)

Yep same as auron's said. Also the main thing is probably your Norton Anti virus as it uses alot of resorces
