Default Problem: Automatic Reboot

Dear Sir/Madam,

I didn't know in which topic I must start this topic, so excuse me if this is not the right place.

I have been experiencing this problem till last month. Occasionaly, becoming very often, the computer reboots automatically while I am it. I have searched for viruses for more than ten times, but no viruses were found.

I think that the problem involves some wires at the back of the CPU, because as I move the tower outwards, many times it does the same thing. I am not sure if there is a loose wire or not, but I have many times tightened all the "pins" (the sockets, I don't know what is the word for them).

I would be grateful if someone can help me.

Thanks a lot!

Stephen Muscat

Howdy muscatstephen,
First off lets get the pc to start restarting...

Right Click my computer... Click on properties..Then click on the advanced tab.. Next click on startup and recovery.. Next there will be a little box that says auto restart.. Untick that box.. Click apply (you may have reboot)
Next Right click my Computer again..Click on manage..The you will see "Event Viewer" click the little + by it an click on apps, and then on system.. Let us know what shows up the most in both viewers that are red or yellow. This way we can see if it is a program or a system error doing this.

Hi,

I have done what you told me....

In the section "Application", there were only few Errors (in red) and Warnings (in yellow).
However, in the section "system", there were many of them....the most being:
- Source: "Tcpipi" (Warning - yellow)
- Source: "Browser" (Warning & Error - red & yellow)

Thanks.

Hey Stephen!
My welcome to PC Helpforum!

Can you provide us some specifications?
Like what kind of processor is on this computer.

Are you also able to check your CPU temperatures for example?

Blue

Can you take a screenshot of the System under event viewer and post it here.

Also would like you to run speedfan as well just to make sure your system is not overheating..

http://www.almico.com/speedfan429.exe

Let us know what the temps it shows you are.

Thanks

EDIT:Bluefish was thinking the same thing
