Exclamation Problem - I think it's my processor

Hi

Recently when I've been playing the game Medal of Honor my FPS has been dropping down to between 10 and 20, causing the game to slow down and lag. Normally my FPS is around 100 to 200 or more, but every few minutes this happens.

I think that this is a problem with my processor. I am using a laptop with an Intel Pentium M 1.7GHZ processor. I know that this can handle the game because the game has ran without any problems for months before this started happening.

I have tried the usual solutions such as virus scanning, spyware scanning and formatting my computer, but none have worked. I would really appreciate any help that anyone here can give me.

Howdy dav1d and welcome to PCHF,
Does your laptop get really hot?

Are you running it off the battery or plugged into the wall?
you can download this and let us know what your temps are..

Yes my laptop does get quite hot. It is plugged into the battery which is plugged into the wall. Should I be using the battery this way or should I let it run then charge it up again? Could that be the problem?

Edit - It says the HD0 is 47 degrees and Temp1 is 29 degrees.

hmm,
Temp 1 is usally your cpu but 29c does not seem correct. Is that all it gives you? You could plug the laptop directly into the wall correct? I would do that while at home.

Do you have intergrated graphics or a dedicated video card? And have you updated drivers lately?
