You need to get the exact model of your athlon so you know what FSB it uses.
http://www.amdboard.com/amdid.html

Then you set the jumpers according to this manual-- you can download a copy (of this manual) to your computer using adobe acrobat...

http://www.asrock.com/Drivers/Manual...setting_K7.pdf

you power down/pull the jumper off it's current pins/replace it on the pins that correspond to the FSB you should be using. Tweezers and a good light are handy... once it's set -- it's done until you change processors.

Make SURE you are looking at YOUR model of motherboard-- this manual covers a lot of them. You could print out the instructions for your model if you have printer access. That way you have the manual on hand... don't print all the pages though-- 20 of 'em will drain a lot of ink

The jumper settings are listed here in this pdf:

http://www.asrock.com/Drivers/Manual...setting_K7.pdf

If you open that and scroll down to youre motherboards model (k7vt6) then you'll see the motherboards fsb jumper settings there. I think you would need to use the 333mhz setting but without knowing 100% sure what cpu you have in there it remains a gamble im afraid.

Athlons apparently use a "multiplier" in the bios to get the rated speeds... I just googled for this very issue. This is becoming confusing to me now... I have never built an Athlon System. It may be best not to mess with those jumpers until we can track down more info--in your 1st post --are you judging the Athlon's actual speed by what you see in the 'boot screen'?? If so you may not even have a problem.

Ah I see, the only thing which is telling me i still have a problem is the fact that my computer is running real slow even after formatting. Also, I used to be able to play new games on very high settings whereas now I lag like hell. I have checked to see if it was my video card, and thats not the problem.

As for trying to judge the speed in the boot screen, I'm not quick enough, it flashes by too quickly. I havn't been able to see what it says for the speed in the boot screen. Plus my monitor takes ages to switch on.
