Default Using CPU again...

Hi there, i have a little problem and think it is a motherboard one so im gona buy a new motherboard. Im jus wondering if i can use my old CPU on the new motherboard or if i will need to buy a new CPU aswell?

The problem: i put in some new RAM and ever since my pc boots up giving me an error message saying new hardware found, may not be installed or configured properly or something to that effect. i've tried for ages now to try solve it without buyin new hardware, i've took the RAM out and booted up comp but the message still comes up so think my motherboard is just playing up now as no one seems to have the answer to the prob. if any1 thinks they know what i can do then feel free to give advice lol. thanks.

Depending on how old your current system is you might not be able to use it on a new motherboard. Would be better to purchase a new motherboard with a processor installed, at least then you know it is 100% compatible.

Before you go out and buy something lets see whether we can solve this problem.

error message saying new hardware found
Would you be able to run Everest and run a full report in HTML and post your results back here.

Then could you also go into Device Manager and take a screenshot of it and post it onto the site. That way we can see exactly what isn't currently installed.

Little mistake in typing Zimbo. No problem:

Thereby, what kind of processor do you use?

:-) Hey chrism_2oo3,

Welcome to PCHF, as you can tell, we have some great people on this site.

In case you aren't familiar with print screen, you need to get to the screen you want a shot of. Push the PrtScrn button, which may be combined with something else, on my keyboard its doubled up with SysRq.

Then you need to paste into a program, it can be Word, or any image program. Save that to your desktop, and Attach it or Image Host in into your post.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN
