Default [Answered] Intel Celeron d331

I have just built my desktop, only a cheapy, although the motherboard i quite good if i want to upgrade, but yeah all the components branching off it are pretty ****, but anyways, heres my question. My system config is a celeron D 331 at 2.66ghz, 775 gigabyte brand motherboard, ide cd rw and 80gb 7200rpm HD, LOL, ON SAME IDE CHANNEL, I DIDNT KNOW MY mobo had only 1 IDE port, and that it had 4 SATA PORTS...LOL.. 512Mb ram, and intel 128mb on board vram (can always get PCIxe). My question is, are celeron d processors that good or are they not worth the money. I cant compare it to a pentium 4 2.6ghz cause i aint got one, but i do have a dothan 1.7ghz centrino laptop and it is a bit faster than my new celeron cpu. Is my system configured wrong or is that just how **** celeron chips are.....

the newer celeron d's arent that bad it is just the only have still a 533 front side bus. To compare it to a p4 hmmm I would say it would be close to a 1.8ghz oir 2gz p4. what speed ram are you running?
